On Monday morning it snowed again! This is what it looked like in our front yard.
Everything was covered with snow!
The snowflakes had fallen on the tree branches and made them look like flowers.
Snow blossoms
Since daddy had Monday afternoon off, we all got to play in the snow. We made this little snowman and then we had a snowball fight. I laughed and laughed! I thought it was really funny!
Snowman helped me stand up in the snow
It was hard to move around even though the snow was so light and fluffy. I crawled around but then I would have to lay on my back to rest. Daddy called this making snow angels.
Forging new ground...
Mommy built an even bigger snowman.
Me and mommy with the snowmen
We got cold after that so we went inside, but it was a fun time out in the snow! I hope it snows every week!

ICA
On Saturday we went to the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston for their Family Day. All families with kids got in for free! I think mommy and daddy just wanted me to go so they could get in without paying.
It was a cold day on the waterfront, but it was nice and toasty inside the museum. The first thing we did was go to a special dance show by some people called STREB: Extreme Action. They were really cool! They had some bouncy rubber band things that they bounced up and down on and then they brought out a huge half cylinder that they rocked back and forth and climbed all over. I stood on mommy's lap and took it all in. It looked like so much fun!

After the show it was time for lunch. We ate in the lobby in the shadow of this giant mural.
"Divine Gas"
Then we went to tour the galleries. Everything was really neat, but I especially liked when the docent told me that I was the cutest baby there. I also liked the harbor view from the fourth story window.

Admiring my reflection

I liked the ICA, and I hope we get to go back next family day.
In my next post, I'm going to write about the snow that fell this week, but I have to sleep now, so stay tuned!

Newport
Last weekend mommy, daddy and I went down South to a place called Newport. It's in a place called Rhode Island. Apparently we were actually on the Rhode Island. The rest of the state is called "Providence Plantations" not to be confused with "Plimoth Plantation," which I've already seen.
It was cold last weekend. So what do my parents do when it's cold? Let's go for a walk down by the water!
I was covered up though.
We ducked into a Gap to warm up. Mommy got this neat hat.
Choo choo!
Further down the waterfront there were these cages on the dock. Daddy said they were lobster pots, but they sure don't look like pots to me.
Lobster traps
After lunch we went to a place called Belcourt Castle. There are lots of old mansions in Newport that are open for people to look at and see how super rich folks back in the olden days used to live.
They have baby statues in front! I got excited because it seemed it was going to be baby friendly inside.
What is this tour about now? And when do we get to see more babies?
During the tour, I realized there wasn't any baby stuff at all. In fact, looking at old stuff wasn't a fun thing for me to do. So afterwards I couldn't wait to get out of there.
Let's go! Power on!
We drove around the seashore looking at more mansions.
Ocean Drive
Then it was to a hotel for the night.
I call this bed! So where are you guys going to sleep?
The next morning we went for a very slow train ride. It took us up the coast and past the Navy training base. Did I mention the train was very slow? I got bored with this and decided that I'd rather play with daddy's camera.
I aimed the camera and daddy helped me take this picture
We did get to see some cool stuff though. There were two big old boats parked next to each other. Daddy said they were "aircraft carriers." He loved this stuff when he was younger, but baby Owen was less than impressed.

It was super cold on the train, and they only had a stove at the back of the car to keep us warm. So mommy went to go get herself some hot chocolate.
Here she is looking to see if she can get some
It was a fun enough weekend for me, but next weekend, I want to do some neat stuff! Like going to the new ICA!

Things I can do at 13 months
Mommy made a video compiling some milestones I've achieved in the past couple of weeks. It's about 3 minutes long. Remember to click on the triangle to play the movie.
The other day, I walked 4 steps by myself without holding on to anything. Unfortunately, Mommy and Daddy couldn't get the camera out in time. I'll just have to give them more warning next time.
Happy Chinese New Year, everyone! Daddy's taking us on a short road trip to Newport, Rhode Island to celebrate. There's nothing Chinese there... but Daddy has Monday off, so we are taking the opportunity to explore the New England area. I hear there's a train depot in Newport - maybe Daddy will take us there for a ride.

Happy Valentine's Day
Over the weekend, Mommy and Daddy took me to a Valentine's Day party. There were lots of kids, food, and music. Even though most of the kids were much bigger than me, I still had lots of fun. Daddy helped me decorate a Valentine's Day mailbox. After we stuffed our faces with pizza and danced our hearts out, we took turns exchanging valentines by putting them in the mailboxes.
My mailbox is full of valentines
Mommy helped me open the valentines I got
Mommy and Daddy got me a Valentine's Day present. It came in a big box and Mommy had to put it together before I could play with it. I love it! It's just like the busy box at my doctor's office. I especially love to play with the xylophone. Maybe I will be a musician when I grow up.
Playing with my Valentine's Day present
Yesterday, two packages came in the mail for me from my grandparents. Grandma and Grandpa Ching send me a toy that makes cow and pig noises when I press on the nose of the animal. Grandma and Grandpa Ketpura got me a Green and Speckled Frog. Now I have a frog that goes with the song!
Presents from my grandparents
This morning, Daddy surprised Mommy with a heart he made using ice and gatorade. Isn't it cool?
Red heart
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!
Mommy promised that we will make a snowman today since we're having our first big snow storm that started last night. I'll ask her to take pictures to post later.

Week in Review
It was another fun week out here in Boston but it was cold! Daddy said it didn't really get above 30 at all this week. Here's some of what I did this week:
This Sunday we were going to go out for dim sum, but I got tired in the morning and fell asleep. Daddy came and lay down next to me, and he went to sleep too!
Sleepytime
I only slept for about half an hour so after I woke up we went to Chinatown for dim sum.
I love dim sum
And I love chopsticks!
Mommy bought me a new toy this week: a toy car. It's really cool, and when I push it, I go, "Rrrrrrr...."
Car goes behind the curtain?
I also figured out that my stackable rings can stack on my arm.
Pumping iron
And yesterday I went on a play-date at Emerson's house again. She had this fun zebra riding thing, and then we played with her car.
Emerson can drive!
Another fun week, and the weekend is here already! Unless you live in Hawaii and it's not quite pau hana time yet...

More Growin'
I don't know why mommy and daddy are trying to get me to eat so much. I am growing after all. Here is more proof:
Me in papasan at 1 month
Me in papasan at 12 months
See I grew a little!
Also, I know how to cheek my food now. Here is what I do when mommy and daddy try to feed me:
I ate all my food!
Just kidding!
