April Adventures

Owen and I have had a very busy April with many birthday parties, fairs, and fun.

I got my face painted at the Kaiser Spring Fest.

Owen got a turtle on his hand.

Alana, Maile, and Uncle Greg came with us to the 'Iolani Family Festival.

When we went to Julian's birthday party where Owen hit a pinata.

And I got 2nd place in the "hot potato" game.

Later, it was a backyard birthday party for Luke. His daddy built this play structure by himself! I had so much fun on the swing.

Owen and I wore ourselves out jumping on their new trampoline.

It was also the Honolulu Academy of Art's 84th birthday celebration. I made a party hat with mommy's help.

We had ice cream...

... and cake.

We spent Easter weekend hunting for eggs.

Some were challenging.

And we dressed up as bunnies.

It wouldn't be Easter without a giraffe ride...

... and funny faces with fabulous friends.

We're so excited Ah Mah and Ah Gong are here for a visit! Here we are with Captain Morgan in front of Makittii in Waikiki.

Owen thinks he's a Jungle Fury Power Ranger. And I'm going along with it.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Owen and I are going to have so much fun this week with Ah Gong and Ah Mah here.

To my favorite little sister, I love you! I look forward to playing "Land and Sea Tea Party" with our night time friends [stuffed animals] with you. We also have fun making music and dancing. Although I sometimes get annoyed that you always want to copy me, I miss you when you're not around. Happy birthday to my roommate and best friend.

Happy Washington's Birthday!

That's what Daddy has today so we're off from school! That means we have time to catch you up on the last two months. Actually we haven't done too much blogging because daddy broke a couple of fingers playing "ultimate" but he's doing a lot better now...

Finally, this weekend we also went to the free Family Sunday at the Academy of Arts for their Chinese New Year's celebration. We saw Ni Hao Kai Lan, drew on canvases that made drum sounds, and tied some fancy knots. Then we sat on the lawn and watched the lion and dragon dance shows...

Ok, that's enough of an update since it's time for us to go out again! Happy President's Day!

Happy Birthday, Big Brother!

For Owen's birthday, Mama, Kung Kung, and Grandma came to our class for Owen's sun ceremony.


Mama also read a couple of books to the class.

Owen also started his first ukulele lesson that afternoon. He requested dinner at his favorite Thai restaurant, followed by homemade cupcakes in the shape of a turtle.

To ring in the new year, Daddy took Aki and me to the Children's Discovery Center to countdown to noon! It was so much fun. We saw the balloons drop and drink an apple juice toast. Too bad mama missed out. She's still recuperating from her owie knee. Here's a picture of our new year hats on the airplane at the Children's Discovery Center.

Day full of presents

Owen and I have been so excited about Christmas for days!

Last night, Daddy helped us set out snacks for Santa - M&Ms, a fortune cookie, pretzels with milk. This morning, when we woke up, the snacks we left were all gone! And Santa left a note for us.

There were also presents in our stockings and under the tree.

After breakfast, and grandma, Kung Kung, and Aunty Marlene came over, we started opening presents. Here are some highlights.

We spent all day opening and playing with presents with a short lunch break. Before dinner, our whole family played many rounds of Toy Story Kerplunk Game that Emmie and Andrew sent us. Owen and I decided to change the rules so that the ones with the most aliens win. I think it worked out in our favor since Owen and I took turns winning.

We wish all our family and friends a very merry christmas. This will be the first year we'll be spending Christmas at our Hawaiian home. I wonder how Santa keeps track of where everyone is on Christmas Eve. He must have a super-duper GPS/people tracker.
