Happy Black Friday!

Or day after Thanksgiving, whatever.

Because Ronak's family had a vegetarian dinner last night, we celebrated our non-vegetarian holiday today. Uncle Huy came and brought his college friends Uncle Dennis and Uncle Gerald. I liked saying "Uncle Dennis" for some reason.

Little turkey or big chicken?
Daddy made a little turkey, or a big chicken, I'm not sure which

Me and Uncle Huy had lots of fun

I had lots of fun playing with the guys, and I think they might have had fun with me. I wonder what we'll do the rest of the weekend? Maybe do some shopping one day late?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! My editors have been busy so I haven't had a chance to catch you up with what's been going on with me for a while...

First, Aunty Demo came over for dinner last week. She is so nice, and she read me my Curious George Goes to the Hospital book. I taught her how to do my fake smile.

Then, Aunty Alissa and Emerson came over to visit and hang out with me while mommy and daddy went on a preschool tour.

We also love playing peek-a-boo with the curtains

Over the weekend we went for a walk outside our house. It's getting cold so I've had to dress up!

Today has been fun so far. We took daddy for a race just a few miles from home.

Crafty Mommy

Over the past few weeks, mommy's been working on a few projects for me. Here are the finished products.

The backpack is a little too big for me, but mommy said she'll make another one that's smaller.

New Nemo backpack
A drawstring fabric backpack to hold all my gear. I picked out the fabric - had to be Nemo!

It's been over a year since she started this sweater for me. When she first finished it back in February, it didn't fit me right (The sleeves were a little big, and the body was too short on me). Now with a few tweaks and added buttons on the neckline, it fits me perfectly!

This past month, mommy took a knitting class once a week to make a cardigan for me. It's still a little big. But I love the stars and moon buttons.

What's next? She said I have enough, so she's working on booties, hats, mittens, and a quilt for my baby sister. And when she gets done with those, she wants to make another sweater for me. We shall see...

Helmet time

While I have always enjoyed putting various objects on my head, I rarely keep them on long enough for a photo. The other day I decided I would need a helmet to ride in my convertible. This is the bag that my play fruits and veggies came in.

There are many good things about this helmet: the mesh top that lets out the heat, the ear straps to keep it on, and the fact that I look extra cute in it.

Peabody Essex Origami

This weekend we went back to the Peabody Essex Museum because mommy wanted to see some origami, which is Japanese folded paper sculptures. There were some pretty good ones there.

Origami Pangolin
Pangolin, by Eric Joisel. Made out of one big piece of paper (6 foot square).

Origami Alligator
American Alligator by Michael LaFosse. Made out of same size big sheet of paper.

Origami Horse

Origami Giant Squid and Ship
Attack of the Kraken by Brian Chan. Made out of one 50 inch sheet of paper.

Origami Nazgul

Origami bird
Origami bird, folded without any planning, by Satoshi Kamiya, a Japanese prodigy who's not much older than me. Okay, he's 25 years older, but that's still pretty young...

Not an origami boat
Not an origami ship. They have lots of boats in the museum.

Build your own duck
Not an origami bird. I did put this one together though.

Trains are everywhere
They have trains too!

Playing the frog drum
My favorite thing to do there was the musical instruments

I had a great time at the museum! Next time, I want to make more origami!

Lunch with my buddies

It's getting colder here in New England. We woke up this morning with ice on the car. Luckily, daddy was home this morning to help mommy scrape the ice off the windshield. To thank him, she dropped him off at the T stop for work. We might even get some snow Friday night/early Sat morning! Daddy may have to shovel some snow Saturday morning before his morning run.

For lunch today, instead of eating alone with mommy, I got to have lunch with two of my friends and their moms. I like this restaurant since they have a little pool with lots of fish right at my level. The food's not bad either! Mommy and I shared a tonkatsu bento box. I ate the carrot tempura, rice, tonkatsu, and japchae.

A Wicked Birthday

For Mommy's Birthday, Mommy and Daddy asked my new babysitter, Dawn, to come play with me, and they went out to watch a show in town called, "Wicked".

Mama's birthday
I'm trying to be cute so they would stay home and play with me.

Being cute didn't work to make them stay home, but I had fun playing with Dawn. Mommy told me that next day that the show was fun - there was lots of music and people dancing in costumes. Maybe they'll take me to a show one day.

Earlier that afternoon, Ronak and I went to get our hair cut. It was my 3rd time at this salon, but Ronak's first. We both did really well and our mommies said we look super cute with our short hair.

Aren't we cute with our new haircuts?
Cute, aren't we?

Happy Birthday Mommy!

It's mommy's birthday today! Mommy, I want to thank you for being the best mommy (teacher, chef, personal assistant, buyer, jester, and environmental services professional) ever! I love spending every day with you. I'm so lucky to have you as my mommy!

Love, Owen
