Milk!
Now that I'm officiatlly a toddler, mommy says it's time for me to drink milk out of a cup like a big girl. It's been a week since I last had mommy's milk. And now I can tell the adults when I want milk by signing. I don't know why they're making such a big deal about it... but here's a short video of me signing.

Ah Mah's Trip
Ah Mah's been gone almost a week, and Owen's still not writing. I guess he's been busy with school and all...
Here are some of the things we did while Ah Mah was here.
I got to wear my shoes outdoors now that I can take a few steps. Owen stood in a bowl.
One day we took Ah Mah to Ikea. We brought back a present for Owen.

P'Tip came over to make Thai desserts with Ah Mah.
Owen got to help. Why didn't I get to help, mama?

Then later in the week we got a package in the mail from Aunty Jen.
Of course it did, but then that got me to thinking that I would rather be in the stroller than the baby. So I tried to sit on it, but I couldn't get up. Daddy had to help me in. What fun!

My First Birthday Party
I don't know what's been keeping my brother from writing about my first birthday party, so I guess it's up to me. I have to have a word with him. As soon as I learn how to talk.
So my party was at this big playroom with a giant parachute and lots of of fun toys and places to crawl.
I got to be in the middle of the parachute
Then the lady helping us dumped out all these balls and we had to put them back.
I like the bang them together
Is this where they're supposed to go?
After the balls it was time for maracas!
Maracas!
And then bubbles!
Do we have these at home, mama?
Once all the playing was done we had pizza. And cake! Little People cake!
Why's it all drippy like that? Michael and Sonya Lee are going to fall off!
Happy birthday to me!
I had a great birthday party!
Thanks, mama and dada!

Sap to Syrup
Last weekend, before Ah Mah came, we went to Drumlin Farm for the "Sap to Syrup Breakfast".
Here's mama and Aki by the goat house
This is us looking at the invisible sheep
This pig was really friendly. I got to touch its nose.
This is a picture right before the pig kissed Aki. She didn't like being kissed by the pig.
Checking out how much I weigh: 1 piglet.
Aki liked the chickens much more--no kissing here!
Finally, after looking at the animals, we went to eat breakfast. Only it was lunchtime, but we still ate the breakfast foods.
Yummy pancakes and sausage!
Aki liked them too.
Then we went to show mommy how syrup is made. While I was waiting for them to look, I stuck this up my nose.
I had a hard time getting this out! I think I learned my lesson though. I haven't put anything up my nose since then.
Checking out sap dripping out of the maple tree. It tasted like water.
We had fun at the breakfast-for-lunch place, except for the part where Aki got kissed by the pig. I hope we get to go back again before we leave!

What's a girl to wear?
Mommy made me an applique shirt ("P" for Phoebe) to wear on my birthday this Sunday, but we can't decide what I should wear with it. Can you help us?
Option 1
Option 2
I'm looking forward to my birthday weekend! We're going to Drumlin Farm for pancake breakfast tomorrow, then we go pick up Ah Mah from the airport. And we're having my birthday party at Gymboree on Sunday. Yay for me turning 1!

Been a while
It's been a while since we've posted, but we're all literally pooped from being sick. So instead of writing, I'm just going to put up some videos from last week and before:
Here's one of Aki and daddy at the dinner table.
Aki using her walker.
The latest is that Aki actually is walking without the walker. She just decided to do that this week.
Here's one of me and Aki painting. This one shows how strong she's getting. And that she can stand by herself.
And finally here's one with Aki climbing up the stairs.
Of course, I had to run up the stairs first so that she would come look for me. Ok, will try to write some later. Good night!
