Happiest Place on Earth

Ok, so we've been busy since we've been back, but it's time to do some posting about our trip to see Ah Mah and Ah Gong...

So on Monday we went to see Mickey Mouse at Disneyland! Aunty Melissa had her SoCal driver's license so we all got in for cheap. Ah Gu came too.


The first thing we saw was this little kid conducting the band. I was so jealous.


But then we went to Autopia where even I could drive the cars! And I got a driver's license too! I liked it so much we went on it twice.


While I was on it the second time, mommy took Aki on the submarine ride. Here she is pointing out the fishies.


After lunch, we took a nap while mommy and daddy went on the mountain sled ride.


While we were still sleeping, Ah Gu and mommy went on this log ride. I didn't like the panda log ride at Storyland, so I'm glad I slept through this one!


Then we woke up and we went on the big carousel. Ehh... Aki liked it though.


I liked flying in the Dumbos better! I'm in the Dumbo in front of daddy and Aki.


I loved spinning in the teacups too! Aki, not so much.


Then we went to meet Mickey Mouse. I liked seeing Mickey Mouse much better than last time, probably because I can watch his show on daddy's phone now.

Disneyland was so much fun! Thanks for taking us, everyone! Next time, I'll have to tell you about the trains and gorillas we saw in LA!

Hanging out with friends and family

Owen and I have been keeping busy since we got to Ah Mah's house. In fact, we're only home to sleep most days. Here's some of what we've been up to.


Dinner with the uncles and aunties at Tokyo Tables.


Owen and I LOVED the keiki plate. It's got all our favorites: yakisoba, french fries, and karaage chicken. All washed down with milk (for me) and OJ (for Owen). The kid's plate even came with an ice cream dessert!

When daddy finally arrived on Sunday, he took us to a birthday party for Alana. We also got to meet her new baby sister, Maile

And while daddy took us to the birthday party, mommy went to the bridal shower she organized for Aunty Kathy.

I was told that Owen and I have big jobs to do this weekend at Aunty Kathy's wedding. I wonder what it will be.

Badminton!

While spending time with mommy's family in the OC, I discovered I really like playing badminton. It must be in my blood!

Maybe I need to have Aunty Mesinee coach me instead of Ah Gu. After all, she did represent US badminton in the Beijing Olympics!

Plane ride with mommy and the OC

After spending three days at his conference in DC, daddy had to go back to Boston to do more work. So mommy took us on a big airplane to visit Ah Mah and Ah Gong in OC. We almost missed the plane since it took us a long time to get to the airport and through security with all our stuff.


During the plane ride, I covered myself with Curious George stickers. I think the stickers kept me busy for about 30 min. Mommy let me watch TV for another hour, then we read books until Aki and I fell asleep half way through our flight.

The next day, mommy took Aki and I to the Discovery Science Center where...

and Aki played on the slide.

Then we went to pick Ah Gu up from the airport and went to say hi to my aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visiting Museums in DC

On Tuesday, daddy was busy with his conference again so mommy walked us to the National Mall to the Natural History Museum and the Air and Space Museum. We also went to a nice garden to hang out after lunch.

Owen thought this was a springboard for diving into the fountain. Soon after this picture was taken, a guard came over and told Owen to get off. The ramp is only for ducks.

Owen's favorite part is driving the airplane in the Air and Space Museum.

The next day, we went to the Postal Museum.

And Owen got to drive the big truck!

There are lots of buttons in the Postal Truck. I had fun pushing them all.

And we couldn't leave DC without a picture with our current President!

While daddy was at his conference...

Mommy took us kids sightseeing around DC. On Monday, Emma and Aunty Linda met us at the National Zoo. Owen has been to this zoo before, so he offered to show me around.

First, he had to make a visit to the panda and gave it a hug. He must really like the panda since he hugged it last time too.

Then we watched the elephant getting a shower...

which inspired us to run through the sprinklers to cool off.

But then I realized I didn't like getting soaked.

Mommy really wore us out at the zoo - both Owen and I fell asleep even before getting to the Metro stop to get back to the hotel. It turns out we didn't miss much. The metro line mommy took us on malfunctioned at some point, so she ended up pushing us all back to the hotel by foot. When we got back, Owen and I were both refreshed by the nap. But mommy really needed a break from pushing us all over town. Here's how she kept Owen occupied the rest of the afternoon.

After Owen's concert, we met Emma and her parents for dinner at Capitol City Brewery where we all chowed down.

Thanks for hanging out with us, Emma! We miss you already!

Down in Virginia

Ok, so now on to our DC trip. Here's what we did the first day. We flew on an airplane down to DC in the morning. It was really early.

Mommy and daddy rented a car that looked just like our car, only it was white. This bothered me, but then they let me play with the buttons in front and it was fine.

Aki and I fell asleep on the way to Uncle Dan, Aunty Linda, and Emma's house. It had been while since we saw them.  When we finally got to their house, we woke up and it was time to play!


Aki liked climbing on Emma's chair. She's really light so she can climb up high now.

Then we went out to have a picnic at the park. This is Aki eating a chocolate covered rice krispie treat.

When we got back to the house, Emma went to take a nap, so I went out to do some yard work.

We had a fun day with them, and we stayed over the night at their house! It was nice to see them again after so long!

Catching up Vacation Week

Ok, one more post before we get on with the DC posts...

Last week we went to the Children's Museum in Easton. It's in an old fire station, so of course, I had a great time.


Here is one of their old fire trucks...


Firefighters have to eat too. Here's Aki fixing a pizza on the stove.


Of course, what fire station would be complete without Mardi Gras beads?

By the way, we're down in DC for a conference that daddy's going to. We're staying with my friends Uncle Dan, Aunty Linda, and Emma. I'll write more to catch you up after I finish up catching up vacation week! Also, I don't nap anymore so I need to catch up on my sleep!

Patriot's Day

It's vacation week and I haven't been at school all week! On Monday, Patriot's Day, we went to watch the Boston Marathon with my friends Emerson and Ellie. We got there early and went to the park to play.

After the park, I went to meet my friends. We sat on the sidewalk and watched the runners come by. They were really fast, and they ran right in front of us!

This guy didn't have legs and still he runs faster than daddy.

After lunch we had to cross back over the marathon course to get to our car. But by then the runners were coming so fast we gave up. We went back to the park to play for a while.
