Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, everyone! So here's what we've been up to this week...

After lots of playing, Ronak and his mommy went home. We had a great time! Wait a minute, did I forget to do something today? Oh well, I had a lot of fun with Ronak anyway!

Halloween Preview

Lots of people have been asking Mommy and Daddy what I'm going to be dressed as for Halloween. Here's a preview. Roar!

After the party, we went to the Lantern Festival at Jamaica Pond. It was quite chilly out. Good thing I had a nice warm coat to keep me warm. Mommy improvised a lantern by putting an LED light inside my plastic "trick-or-treating" jack-o-lantern. There were so many people at the pond with really beautiful lanterns. Too bad we couldn't get a good picture since daddy doesn't have a tripod.

Happy Halloween, everyone! I promise more pictures of Owen the Lion later this week.

Another day at the ICA

Ronak's grandparents came to visit last weekend. Ronak and I took them and our parents to the ICA for another art-filled playdate. The theme for this month is "From Ordinary to Extraordinary". We were given straws and a foam block to create our own 3-D sculptures.

After working hard at our sculptures, we went back upstairs to look at more art. There was a neat exhibit called, "Design Life Now". Our parents thought the displayed "art" were really cool; Ronak and I love the blinking wall of lights best. We also got to run around the big glass window that overlooks the harbor.

'Tis the Season for Pumpkins

Earlier this week, Mommy hosted a pumpkin decorating playdate at our house for her MOMS group. A bunch of my friends came over and we decorated our pumpkins with markers and stickers. Here are my creations.

Pumpkins I decorated
What do you think? Not quite a Van Gogh yet.

Yesterday at Target, Mommy and I saw a kit to convert a pumpkin into a "Mr. Potato Head"-themed character. We decided on the Pirate kit. Our pumpkin is a little too small, but you get the idea.

Arrrrr, the pirate pumpkin
Arrr, I'm the pirate pumpkin!

In other news, I slipped and hit my head on the door jam yesterday after dinner. Mommy and Daddy put ice on it right away, and I feel fine. Now I have a big purple bruise over my right eye. The fall must have made me pretty woozy since this is what I picked out to wear to bed, a piece from 3 different pajamas outfit. And I also tried to put on the bottoms of my Halloween costume too, but Daddy stopped me.

Hmmm... does this outfit work?

My baby sister

Mommy is 19 weeks pregnant today, and we went to get pictures taken of the baby growing inside her. The doctor tinkered around with a machine and took some measurements of the baby. At the end, the doctor said everything looks good, that the baby seems to be growing well. She also said that I'm going to have a little sister! Here are some pictures of her.

Another Day at the Farm

Sunday turned out to be a gorgeous day. Daddy had the day off, so we went apple picking at Lookout Farm again. I love the farm because I get to ride on the trains, eat fresh-picked fruits, and run around on their huge playground.

I love trains
Can you tell I love trains?

Cheating my way out of the maze
My first time in the maze and I cheated my way out. Mommy caught me red-handed.

Yummy grapes
The train conductor picked some grapes off the vines for us as we got on the train. Boy were they sweet!

After naptime, Daddy took me out to the park near our house. He took some great pictures of the fall colors. It's hard to believe in a month, all these trees won't have any more leaves!

Fall is here!

You may have noticed I was wearing a Red Sox "Dice-K" Matsuzaka t-shirt in the picture. That was because Dice-K was pitching that night in the last game against the Cleveland Indians. I think wearing the shirt worked since Dice-K did really well that night and the Red Sox won the American League title. Watch out, Ah Gu, the Red Sox is no match for your Rockies! Go Sox!

Happy Birthday, Grant!

On Saturday, Mommy and I went to my friend, Grant's Birthday party. Daddy couldn't come with us because he had to work that day.

Getting into the party spirit
Here I am getting into the party spirit with a hat I decorated myself!

Grant had a HUGE train table with lots of trains, so I had a blast playing with him and other boys at the party. Mommy couldn't even entice me away from the train table for lunch. We did manage to join the party in singing "Happy Birthday" for Grant.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Grant!

Needless to say, I pooped out and fell asleep in the car seat on the way home from the party.

DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park

Sorry for the lack of posts this past week. Mommy's been busy looking into a "school" for me to go to starting next Fall. She said she's running out of ideas to entertain me, and that I'll be old enough to go to school by then. I'll keep you posted as to what "school" is and where I'll be going. I don't think it matters just as long as I'll be with Ronak.

Last Thursday was a very dreary day, so Mommy took me to a new museum that we've never been to before called the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park. We got there before the museum opened, so we took a short walk in the garden around the museum. There were lots of huge sculptures that kept me interested. I'm really squinty in the pictures because Mommy asked me to "smile" for the camera.

Posing with the Pinecone people
Here I am posing with people made out of pinecones.

After seeing more sculptures and getting a little lost, we finally found our way to the museum entrance. The highlight of the museum for me is the Trainscape exhibit where artists built scenes for model trains. We couldn't take pictures inside the museum, but you can see a video of the trains going through the installations on the museum website. I had a lot of fun watching the trains go by and didn't want to leave the trains. Mommy managed to wrestle me away to go to an art room where I got to practice my drawing skills. We misplaced my artwork somewhere, so I don't have a picture to show you. Maybe next time.

Hiking Blue Hills

On Sunday we went for a hike up in the Blue Hills. This is where we took Uncle JT hiking in the spring and it was just as cold then as it was for this weekend's hike. I got carried up the mountain on daddy's back, so I was plenty warm, but I think mommy and daddy were pretty chilly.

Here we are at the top. There was a big stone tower where you could see all the way to downtown Boston!

Me, mommy, and Austin, Alice's daddy
Here we are for lunchtime. That's my friend Alice's daddy in the background.

On the way down, I got to walk. I had to tell him "down! walking! down! walking!" and try to escape the backpack for a few minutes before he let me out. But when I got down, I didn't just walk... I ran!

I had a good time on the hike and the day even got nice and warm by the end. I hope we get to go back again soon!

Fun run and Ash

Last weekend we went up to New Hampshire to do a "10K" fun run. Mommy pushed me in the 2 mile stroller walk and daddy ran 6.2 miles. It was a beautiful day but a little cold. I had my blanket and hat so I was okay. I finished first overall in 23 minutes or so, followed 1/2 a second later by mommy, who I had to pull along behind me. The next person, a runner who supposedly "won" the race finished in 32 minutes. Daddy didn't come in until a while later.

Afterwards they had a big place for us kids to play. There was coloring, music, but most important, my new most favorite thing in the world, hay!

It's raining hay!
Hay! Hay! It's raining hay!

After the run, we went to meet my babysitter from months past, Ashley, or as I like to call her, "Ashhhh." We went to Newburyport for lunch, and it was so much fun to watch the boats and the doggies on the boardwalk.

Later, mommy wasn't quite ready to go home so we went to a store and bought some shoes. Here I am modeling my new shoes. Just like Uncle JT's!

Aunty Leng visits

Aunty Leng came all the way from Thailand to visit us this week. I think she was one of the first people to visit me in the hospital when I was born, but of course I only remember a little of that!

Aunty Leng is fun! She played so much with me and I got to stay up until 10 p.m. with her! Too bad she had to go back after only 2 days. I miss her already... Come visit again soon! And bring Uncle Nong with you too!

Meeting Allen Say and Happy Birthday, Ezra!

Today, we drove all the way out to Amherst again to the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Arts to meet another one of my favorite authors, Allen Say. He has written many books for children, but mommy and daddy has only read one to me called Grandfather's Journey, which won a big award. We were a little late to hear him read from his newest book that won't be out until next year. I'm really excited about it since Mr. Say kept repeating the name "Aki-san" when he was telling the story. But mommy said it's a different character than the one I know from "Aki and the Fox". Afterwards, Mr. Say signed my book for me.

Afterwards, I fell asleep in the car ride. When I woke up, we arrived at Kids' Fun Stop for Ezra's Birthday Party. Mommy and I have been to this indoor playspace a couple of times before, but it was Daddy's first time. I had fun playing in the play house where I cooked and mopped the floor. Then I discovered all kinds of toys I can ride on.

Fall Harvest at Drumlin Farm

Last Sunday, Mommy and I went to Drumlin Farm with Uncle Sameer, Auntie Sarita, and Ronak while Daddy was 50 miles away at a boring conference. We saw lots of animals, including these strange creatures.
